Privacy Policy
PetViome ("we", "us") is a pet health app built in Santiago, Chile. This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
1. Data we collect
- Account data from Google. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile photo. We do not receive your Google password or access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or calendar.
- Pet and health data you add. Pet profiles (name, species, breed, birth date, weight, photo), clinical history, vaccines, appointments, lab results and the settings you choose in the app.
- Conversations with the AI assistant. The questions you send to our assistant (Nala, or the name you give it) and its answers, plus the assistant name and photo you choose.
- Technical data. Basic logs our hosting providers keep to run and secure the service (for example IP address, browser type and request times).
We do not collect payment card numbers. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data.
2. How we use your data
- To sign you in and keep your account and your pets' records in sync across your devices.
- To show your pets' health information, reminders, age clock and booking options.
- To answer your questions with the AI assistant, using your pets' data as context so the answers are relevant.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We only request basic profile scopes (name, email, photo).
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with the providers that run the service for us, under their own security and confidentiality terms:
- Supabase stores your account and app data (servers in São Paulo, Brazil).
- Vercel hosts the website and app.
- Cerebras processes your messages to the AI assistant to generate answers. We send only what is needed to answer: the conversation and your pets' health summary.
- Google provides sign-in.
If you book with a vet or buy insurance through PetViome (for example with BCI Seguros), we share the details needed for that service only when you ask us to. We may disclose data if required by law.
4. Medical disclaimer
PetViome and its AI assistant give general guidance and do not replace a veterinarian. In an emergency, go to a veterinary clinic right away.
5. How long we keep it, and your rights
We keep your data while your account is active. You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to close your account, at any time by writing to the contact below. When you delete your account we remove your data from our database within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep it. Signing out of the app also removes your data from that browser.
You can also revoke PetViome's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
6. Security
Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Each account can only read its own records (row-level security in our database). No system is perfect; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.
7. Children
PetViome is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 14.
8. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, let you know in the app.
